In a continuation of episode 19, we find that Wakaba's "someone else" is Saionji. Since his expulsion from Ohtori, he has been hiding in her dorm room. Wakaba hasn't let go of him, and with him always there, she starts to think she has him all to herself (namely, away from Anthy). He even starts to make her a gift, a small leaf-shaped hair clip.

Since Mikage's duelist plan involves the Student Council members, he picks Saionji as his next target. He secretly sees him in Wakaba's room, promising him a way back into the academy if he cooperates. This "cooperation" involves Saionji giving the hair clip he made for Wakaba to Anthy. Wakaba sees Anthy wearing the clip, that being the last straw for her. She goes to Nemuro Memorial Hall and becomes a Black Rose Duelist, taking her sword from Saionji.
