Mitsuru is a young boy who is in hero worship of Nanami, who always treats him as more of a servant than anything else. He claims that this is fine, because he is happy just to be near her. But he quickly comes to resent being treated as inferior by everyone else because he is younger, and wants to have more power and to not be looked down on.Mitsuru seems to be one of those children who wants to grow up too quickly, and that is most people's impression of him. But, his true feelings are that he has no power, especially when compared to everyone else. He of course wants this power, but in Mitsuru's case, can't get it unless he becomes older. But gaining power at his age may still provide a lack of respect from everyone else.
